Overview

I embarked on a creative journey to design packaging for Walter Baker & Company chocolates, a brand steeped in a rich history originating from Boston. Inspired by the company's legacy, I aimed to infuse the packaging with a nostalgic touch of old-fashioned elegance. Simultaneously, my focus was on ensuring the structural convenience of the packaging, allowing users to effortlessly access and store their delectable treats.

Art Deco

a popular design style of the 1920s and '30s

Elements

I attempted to utilize basic elements to symbolize various chocolate flavors. In crafting the design for the chocolate packaging, I employed a repetitive display of streamlined angular geometric motifs, infusing the packaging with an air of refined elegance. The logo, fashioned with a blend of a frame boasting subtly curved edges and a font characterized by stark contrasts between its bold and delicate strokes, exudes an unmistakable Art Deco flair.

Package

In contrast to traditional packaging, which typically features rectangular+trapezoidal lids, I introduced a round lid in the design. This alteration not only expanded the options for opening the chocolate packaging but also maintained the overall aesthetic integrity when accessing its contents.
